This book cover is a remake of the famous book ‘The Stranger,’ written by Albert Camus. The cover I designed is in layers to reflect the two-sided world in which Meursault found himself living, where his view of himself was so different from the way society saw him. The book poses a complex question about life; How should we be as human beings? Is there a right and a wrong?
‘Aujourd’hui, maman est morte. Ou peut-être hier, je ne sais pas.’
- ‘Today my mother died. Or maybe yesterday, I do not know.’
I included this line from ‘The Stranger’ on the back cover of the
book because it gives some insight into the protagonist Meursault
- just how indifferent could a man be of his mother’s death without
being seen as a coldblooded killer?
