This is a graphic identity for a funeral office named ‘LIV’ (life). During the conceptual development of this project, the phrase I had in mind was ‘every cloud has a silver lining.’ I worked around this idea, researching about loss and grief. Through my research I realized the importance of taking care of yourself during difficult times of mourning. I wanted to create giveaway gifts, a way for the business to encourage self care and comfort to their customers while also distributing/spreading the brand’s message in a positive way. I created small tea bags with green, red and white teas for customers to bring home with them.
Scientifically it's proven that colors can have tangible effects on the mind, how we
feel and act - in both positive and negative ways. For the graphic
identity of LIV, I emphasized bright colors to ease customers’ grief
while maintaining the solemnity of the funeral business. The rain
cloud is a symbol of the hardest phase we go through when we
experience the loss of someone we love, and the sun stands as a
reminder that things will get better.
